Backwoods Adds Philadelphia to City Packs: 'Broad Street Sweet' Is the Sixth Limited-Edition Release
Backwoods has a new city on its map. A Philadelphia edition called Broad Street Sweet began landing at tobacco retailers in early September, extending the limited-edition "City Packs" series that has become the brand's main vehicle for new releases in 2026.
It is the sixth city-themed pack, and, like the others, it is expected to be a short run rather than a permanent addition to the Backwoods Cigars & Natural Leaf Cigarillos lineup.
What Arrived: The Philly Edition
Retailer Bluegrass Tobacco announced the release on September 4, describing Broad Street Sweet as a new limited-edition cigarillo from ITG Brands, the company that makes Backwoods in the United States. The flavor is sweet and aromatic, in line with the rest of the flavored Backwoods lineup, and the cigars are sold in the familiar eight-pack box of five, for 40 cigars per box.

The Philadelphia identity comes through the packaging. The box uses blue branding, carries the "Philly" name and shows a Broad Street sign, a nod to the avenue that runs through the center of the city. Construction is standard Backwoods: an all-natural leaf wrapper and natural tobacco filler with the brand's rustic, frayed-end look.
Retail listings put the box price at around $43.25 at Tobacco Stock and Tobacco General, with some sellers pricing higher. Several of those listings were already showing "low stock" or "backordered" within the first ten days, which is typical of how the city editions move. As of this writing, ITG Brands has not posted a press release about the Philadelphia pack on its own announcements page, so the details here come from retailer listings and product pages.
The City Packs Series So Far
Broad Street Sweet joins five earlier releases, each with its own name, flavor and package design:
- L.A. Aromatic (Los Angeles)
- Southern Sweet Tea (Atlanta)
- The Purple Pack (Houston)
- Sweet Summertime (Chicago)
- Caddy Cream (Detroit)
The Houston pack, for example, is listed as a seasonal release with Caribbean Basin Cuban-seed filler under a Connecticut wrapper, and each edition has been marketed as available only while supplies last. The strategy behind the series follows a consistent pattern: a new city every few months, limited quantities, and no restock once a run sells through.

The release also comes at a busy moment for the parent company. Imperial Brands restructures, which owns ITG Brands, recently announced a large restructuring. Despite the corporate shifts, the Backwoods brand—which ITG describes as the best-selling all-natural cigar in the world—continues to receive steady new-product attention.
What It Means for Shoppers
If you follow the City Packs, the practical advice is the same as for the earlier editions: buy when you see it. The Detroit Caddy Cream pack has already cycled to "unavailable" at several retailers, and Houston's Purple Pack is listed as seasonal. Philadelphia is likely to follow the same arc.
"Broad Street Sweet is a small release with a clear purpose: keep a 45-year-old brand feeling new by tying limited runs to specific cities. It does not change the Backwoods recipe, and it will not be around long."
Two caveats apply. First, flavored cigar rules vary by state and city, and some jurisdictions restrict or ban flavored tobacco sales outright, so availability depends on where you live. Second, city-edition pricing is typically a few dollars above the everyday flavors like Backwoods Honey Berry or Russian Cream.
For fans of the sweet, aromatic side of the lineup, Broad Street Sweet is worth a look while it lasts. For everything currently in stock, you can browse the full Cigarillos & Small Cigars collection, including other Natural Leaf Cigarillos.
