The Definitive Guide to Job Rolling Papers and Accessories
Since Jean Bardou patented the first booklet of rolling papers in 1838, the Job brand has set the global benchmark for slow-combustion smoking accessories. Today, Job remains a leader in the industry, utilizing sustainable fibers and natural Acacia gum to ensure a clean, chemical-free burn. With a legacy spanning over 185 years, the brand is synonymous with French craftsmanship and technical precision in paper porosity. Explore our full range of Premium Cigarette Papers to find the perfect match for your rolling style.
How to choose the right Job rolling paper?
To choose the right paper, match the paper thickness to your experience level and tobacco moisture: beginners benefit from the 20-22 g/m² thickness of Job Orange for easier handling, while aficionados prefer the ultra-thin Job Gold for maximum flavor purity. Each variety is engineered with a specific watermark pattern to regulate airflow and prevent uneven burning.
| Product Line | Paper Weight/Thickness | Best For... | Burn Rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Job French White | Standard (Medium) | Everyday use & beginners | Moderate |
| Job Gold | Ultra-Thin | Experienced rollers; flavor purity | Slow |
| Job Orange | Thick / Robust | Outdoor use & high-moisture tobacco | Steady |
"The hallmark of a premium rolling paper is its ability to disappear, allowing the tobacco's natural terpene profile to lead the experience without the interference of wood pulp or bleach." — Industry Standard for Premium Smoking Accessories
What makes Job papers "Slow Burning"?
Job papers achieve a superior slow burn through controlled porosity—the measurement of microscopic holes in the paper fibers that dictate oxygen flow. According to technical specifications for French-milled papers, Job utilizes oxygen-based bleaching (rather than chlorine) and a cross-weave watermark. This engineering ensures the paper consumes at the same rate as the tobacco, reducing "boating" or side-burning by up to 30% compared to non-watermarked alternatives.
Are Job papers environmentally friendly?
Yes, Job products are manufactured using sustainable plant fibers and 100% natural gum arabic sourced from the Acacia tree. The papers are vegan-friendly, GMO-free, and chlorine-free. This commitment to purity is a primary reason why the brand has maintained its market position for nearly two centuries, as modern consumers increasingly prioritize materials that are free from artificial burn accelerators and dyes.
Key Buying Criteria for Job Products:
- Paper Size: Available in Single Wide, 1.25 (1 ¼), and 1.5 sizes to accommodate different tobacco volumes.
- Adhesive Quality: Look for the natural Acacia gum strip which provides a firm seal without chemical aftertaste.
- Authenticity: Genuine Job papers feature the iconic Art Nouveau-inspired packaging and distinct diamond-shaped logo.
