Swisher Sweets BLK Tip Cigarillos Move to $1.69 Pre-Price as Cherry and Cocoa Follow Smooth

Swisher Sweets BLK Tip Cigarillos have moved to a $1.69 pre-priced two-pack, marking a twenty-cent increase from the previous $1.49 price point. You can find these updated boxes alongside the rest of the line in our Swisher Sweets BLK collection. The rollout began with the Smooth flavor on June 18, 2026, followed by Cocoa on August 28 and Cherry on September 9. This report examines the specific timing of these price changes and how they impact the wholesale cost per box.

It is the second Swisher pre-price increase this fall, following the Leaf Wraps move to $2.99 in late September, and it lands on a line that A2Z Tobacco stocks by the box.

What changed, and when

BLK Tip is Swisher's pipe-tobacco cigarillo with a black plastic tip, sold in 15-pouch boxes of two. The brand's own site lists seven flavors in the line: Smooth, Cherry, Wine, Berry, Grape, Cocoa, and Cream, plus single-pouch versions of Smooth and Cherry. Cream is the newest, having shown up at distributors in February 2026 at the then-standard $1.49 pre-price.

The $1.69 rollout can be dated from the product listings at three national cigar distributors, which added new SKUs on the same days:

  • Smooth, 2 for $1.69: listed June 18, 2026
  • Cocoa, 2 for $1.69: listed August 28, 2026
  • Cherry, 2 for $1.69: listed September 9, 2026

At those distributors, the 15-pouch box moved from $17.99 to $20.25 wholesale, a rise of about 12.6 percent, while the printed consumer price rose 20 cents, or about 13 percent. As of late October, Berry, Grape, Wine, and Cream were still listed only at the $1.49 pre-price, so the transition appears to be ongoing rather than complete.

For context, the BLK Tip two-pack has climbed in steps over six years according to the same listings: 2 for 99 cents in 2020, 2 for $1.29 and 2 for $1.49 boxes between 2022 and 2024, and now $1.69. The $1.49 box was the standard for Cocoa, Cherry, Berry, and Grape through 2024 and 2025.

Part of a wider repricing

Swisher has been moving printed prices across its mass-market lines through 2026. Its Classic cigarillos arrived in $1.39 two-packs in June, the Leaf three-packs sit at 3 for $2.79, and the Leaf Wraps line went to $2.99 in September alongside new Smooth, Dark, and Blue Raspberry varieties.

Competitors are doing the same: Good Times USA lifted its City Life cigarillos to a $1.69 pre-price in October and its Mini cigarillos to $1.29 in September, according to distributor listings covered here earlier.

Rising federal and state excise taxes, tariff-driven input costs and a shrinking mass-market cigar volume (Altria reported the category down 6 percent in the second quarter) are the usual pressures behind these moves, though Swisher has not cited a reason.

What it means for shoppers

The A2Z Tobacco listing for Swisher Sweets BLK Cherry Tip at $1.69 (15 packs of 2, $20.25 per box) went up on September 9, the same day the SKU reached distributors. Shoppers who buy BLK Smooth or Cocoa should expect $1.69 pouches as older $1.49 stock sells through, and the remaining four flavors will likely follow.

A printed pre-price is a ceiling the manufacturer suggests, not a guarantee. Retailers in high-tax states often sell above it, and flavored cigars such as Cherry, Cocoa, and Cream cannot be sold at all in jurisdictions with flavor bans, including Massachusetts and several California cities. Buying by the box of 15 pouches locks in the current price for a while, but it does not change what the next box will cost.

The bottom line

A 20-cent step on a two-pack is modest in isolation, but it marks a 70 percent increase in BLK Tip's printed price since 2020 and brings the line level with competitors at $1.69. With Cherry, Cocoa, and Smooth already converted and four flavors still at $1.49, the next few months will show whether $1.69 becomes the line's standard price or whether Swisher holds some flavors back.
