Grabba Leaf Showcases Whole-Leaf Wraps at InterTabac 2026 in Dortmund
Grabba Leaf, the Florida-based manufacturer behind one of the most recognizable names in natural-leaf wraps, spent September 15 through 17 on the show floor at InterTabac 2026 in Dortmund, Germany. The Pompano Beach company exhibited at stand 7.B22, according to its official InterTabac exhibitor listing, putting its whole leaf, cigar wraps, crushed tobacco, and hemp papers in front of an international trade audience that organizers expected to reach roughly 14,500 buyers from about 80 countries.
For a category that grew up in New York bodegas and Caribbean corner shops, securing a booth at Europe's biggest tobacco fair represents a significant milestone for the brand and the broader natural leaf market.

What InterTabac is, and why a wrap brand would go
InterTabac bills itself as the world's largest trade fair for tobacco products and smoking accessories. Messe Dortmund reported that the 2026 edition brought together around 800 exhibitors from roughly 70 countries across twelve halls, with about half of visitors traveling from outside Germany. It runs alongside two sister shows: InterSupply for manufacturing and NUBIZ for next-generation nicotine products.
The 2026 show was also the first held on a new Tuesday-to-Thursday schedule, a change from the traditional weekend format. Grabba Leaf fits into the show's "Roll-Your-Own and Make-Your-Own" (RYO/MYO) theme world. The company's exhibitor profile describes it as a natural whole-leaf tobacco manufacturer whose products are "100% natural, from the farm through preparation and packaging," with no added flavoring chemicals.
The lineup listed for Dortmund covered four distinct product groups:
- Whole Leaf: Available in standard, Yellow, and Gold editions.
- Cigar Wraps: Offered in Original, Yellow, and Gold editions.
- Crushed Tobacco: The pre-processed leaf line introduced in 2024.
- Hemp Papers: King Size options under its URB label.
Grabba Leaf notes that its leaf is offered in three maturation levels, ranging from light and smooth to dense and earthy. This variety provides the practical difference between a wrap that burns mellow and one that delivers the heavier, darker character traditional grabba is known for.

A company with a long road to Dortmund
Grabba Leaf traces its origins to 2006 in Jamaica, where it first launched natural cigar wraps. According to company history, whole leaf followed in 2008, while hemp papers and Gold edition wraps arrived in 2014. Manufacturing moved to Santiago in the Dominican Republic in 2013, and the business is currently operated from Pompano Beach, Florida, under Michael Robinson.
The company has also been active in raising its profile domestically. It returned as the title sponsor of the Best of the Best Music Fest, a Caribbean music festival that held its 19th staging on May 24 at Museum Park in Miami. Robinson described the partnership as a "tremendous opportunity to engage with a respected brand" and its audience.
One caveat: "grabba leaf" is a description, not a trademark
Consumers should be aware that the words on a package do not necessarily point to this specific company. In 2019, the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board canceled Robinson's registered "Grabba Leaf" marks, ruling them merely descriptive of the product. This followed a dispute with rival Hot Grabba Leaf LLC. Consequently, "grabba" and "grabba leaf" are effectively generic terms in the trade. Shoppers seeking the Pompano Beach company's specific product should look for its unique branding and editions rather than the phrase alone.
Why natural leaf is having a moment
Grabba Leaf's presence in Germany coincides with natural leaf's continued growth on U.S. retail shelves. The 2026 Category Excellence Awards recently credited Al Capone cigarillos with holding over 20 percent of the natural-leaf cigar category at the Dash In chain. Other manufacturers are also expanding; LooseLeaf recently debuted its "Slugs" pre-rolled cones, and Swisher Sweets has refreshed its leaf line with new flavors.
"The natural-leaf wrap business that started in Jamaican and New York smoke culture is now pitching itself to buyers from 80 countries."
While the market is expanding, it is important to note that leaf tobacco remains a nicotine-bearing, addictive product regulated by the FDA. The FDA has not authorized claims that natural or additive-free leaf is safer than other forms. Furthermore, availability and taxation vary significantly by jurisdiction.
What it means for A2Z Tobacco shoppers
For customers who purchase fronto leaf and whole-leaf wraps, this international expansion indicates that established suppliers are investing in long-term growth. A brand courting European distributors is likely to maintain a consistent U.S. supply. A2Z Tobacco continues to carry the Grabba Leaf editions shown in Dortmund—standard, Yellow, and Gold—alongside our broader selection of natural leaf wrappers.
Grabba Leaf's InterTabac appearance sends a clear signal: the brand is ready to test whether European markets will embrace grabba with the same enthusiasm as U.S. consumers.
